A Strong Community Turnout at the Big River Grocery Holiday Market
The Big River Grocery Holiday Market was a wonderful success and an exciting step forward for our growing project. The event brought together neighbors, local vendors, and supporters for a day filled with shopping, conversation, and shared excitement about what Big River Grocery can become.
Held inside the future home of Big River Grocery, the Holiday Market gave the community a chance to see the space, meet one another, and imagine a locally owned grocery store right here in Helena. The turnout exceeded expectations, and the energy in the room made it clear that this project matters to people.
A Celebration of Local Vendors
The Holiday Market featured 12 local vendors, each offering unique products ranging from handmade goods to specialty items and gifts. Vendors enjoyed strong foot traffic throughout the event, and attendees appreciated having the opportunity to shop local while supporting a meaningful cause.
Many vendors shared how grateful they were to be part of an event that wasn’t just about sales, but about building something lasting for the community. Their participation helped make the market feel vibrant, welcoming, and full of creativity.
Free Tote Bags and Community Support
To say thank you to the community, Big River Grocery tote bags were given away for free to the first 35 attendees. These totes quickly became a favorite and were proudly carried around the market, helping spread the word about Big River Grocery beyond the event itself.
The tote giveaway and raffle giveaway, along with the warm atmosphere, made the market feel celebratory and inclusive—exactly the kind of environment Big River Grocery hopes to create every day once the store opens.
More Than a Market: A Place to Connect
One of the most meaningful outcomes of the Holiday Market was the way people used the space to connect and socialize. Neighbors stopped to talk, old friends ran into one another, and new conversations formed naturally.
Attendees shared that they loved being able to stand inside the future grocery store, walk the space, and picture where shelves, produce, and community gathering areas might one day be. For many, it made the idea of Big River Grocery feel real in a way it hadn’t before.
