Become a Member-Owner
Big River Grocery is more than a grocery store.
It’s something our community is building—together.
By becoming a member-owner, you’re helping bring fresh, affordable food back to Helena while creating something that is owned by the people who live here.

What Is a Member-Owner?
A member-owner is someone who invests in Big River Grocery and helps make it a reality.

The “4 Quarters” Ownership Model
We believe ownership should be simple and accessible.
$1 a day for 1 year = $365 = Ownership
You don’t have to pay all at once.
You can contribute:
Monthly
Quarterly
Or in one payment
Every contribution moves you closer to ownership.
1 Quarter – Supported Ownership
If money is tight right now, you can still become an owner.
You contribute what you can, and the Solidarity Fund helps cover the rest.
2 Quarters – Shared Ownership
You contribute part of the investment over time.
The Solidarity Fund may help if needed.
3 Quarters – Full Ownership
You pay the full $365 investment at a pace that works for you (one-time payment, monthly, or quarterly).
4 Quarters – Community Builder
You invest and give extra to help someone else become an owner.
One Important Thing
No matter which path you choose:
Every member-owner has the same rights.
One person = one vote.
Your Rights as a Member-Owner
As a member-owner, you will:
Vote for the Board of Directors
Have a say in major decisions
Help guide the future of the store
This is your grocery store.
